National Volunteer Week April 2018

Happy 2018 National Volunteer Week! This is an annual, nationwide observation created to recognize the vital contributions of our country’s volunteers and to encourage individuals to make a difference in their communities through volunteer projects and events.

In 2016-2017, volunteers contributed 10,532 hours of service to CuriOdyssey…

…assisting with camp, recording animal observations, engaging visitors, assisting with wildlife presentations, serving on committees, taking photos, facilitating activities, cleaning exhibits, bookkeeping, showing animals…and much, much more!

Volunteers help CuriOdyssey thrive and provide services to thousands of kids. View the numbers in our annual report here.

For example, of the 10, 532 hours volunteered, 4,500 volunteer hours were contributed by teens, and last fiscal year ~50,000 guests saw wildlife up close. Volunteer efforts directly impact a child’s relationship with the natural world.
