Volunteer Position:
Guest Experience Ambassador

Duration: Ongoing, with a minimum commitment of six months/four hours per month, with flexible weekend and weekday opportunities

Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator

Role Summary:

As a Guest Experience Ambassador at CuriOdyssey Science Playground and Zoo, you will play a vital role in gathering feedback from our visitors to help us measure and improve our Net Promoter Score (NPS), a metric used by organizations to gauge the loyalty of their customers or visitors. Your primary responsibility will be to engage guests as they are exiting and request them to complete a short survey about their visit. This position requires confidence and comfort in approaching adult guests and asking them to take a moment to share their feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage Guests: Approach visitors as they leave CuriOdyssey and politely ask them to complete a short satisfaction survey.
  • Facilitate Survey Completion: Provide guests with the survey and offer to keep an eye on their children while they complete it, ensuring parents feel at ease.
  • Express Gratitude: Sincerely thank guests for taking the time to provide their feedback and express appreciation for their visit and participation.
  • Record Responses: Ensure all collected surveys are accurately recorded and submitted for analysis.
  • Maintain a Positive Attitude: Uphold a friendly and approachable demeanor, making guests feel comfortable and valued during the interaction.

Qualifications:

  • Age Requirement: Must be 16 years or older.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of guests confidently.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, approachable, and able to make guests feel at ease during interactions.
  • Reliability: Punctual and dependable, with the ability to commit to scheduled volunteer shifts.
  • Customer Service Orientation: A genuine interest in ensuring guests have a positive experience and a willingness to listen to their feedback.
  • Comfort with Children: Comfortable interacting with children and supervising them briefly while parents complete the survey.
  • Commitment to DEI Principles: An understanding of and commitment to applying DEI principles in interactions with children and avoiding biased behavior.

Training:

CuriOdyssey will provide training on survey collection techniques, guest engagement strategies, guidelines for supervising children safely, and DEI principles.
