STEAM Camp Leader

CuriOdyssey is seeking Camp Leaders to support Camp CuriOdyssey campers in summer 2023.

CuriOdyssey is seeking Camp Leaders to support Camp CuriOdyssey campers in summer 2023.

Camp CuriOdyssey provides camper driven investigations of science and the outdoors, enabling them to grow as critical and creative thinkers while they experience and understand how the world works. Our campers are 5-12 years old, predominantly from the local area and come to us with varied learning abilities. Camp groups are small to ensure that campers enjoy personal, rich explorations alongside skilled staff, volunteers, and peers. Camp staff creates an environment that empowers campers to question, investigate, and imagine.

Camp CuriOdyssey is supported by a team of Directors, Leaders, Inclusion Specialist, and Leaders-in-Training, reporting to the Assistant Director of Education. Camp CuriOdyssey’s STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art/animals and math) focus is reflected in a robust curriculum developed around the following Camp themes: Gadgets and Gizmos, Art Inventors, Junior Keepers, Nature Quest, Museum Medley, and Eco Explorers. Camp Leaders, in partnership with and under the guidance of camp Directors, will deliver our robust curriculum for our Kindergarten to 6th grade campers, support youth volunteer “Leaders in Training” and ensure that the camp environment is engaging, fun, and safe. Leaders serve as role models for campers, establish a foundation of knowledge, model inquiry, and collaborate with campers, learning together. For the summer of 2023 we are seeking 14 Leader positions to support the five Camp themes referenced above (descriptions can be found here).

CuriOdyssey seeks to build a diverse work team and encourages applications from candidates who will add to that diversity. CuriOdyssey is committed to creating an inclusive and equitable workplace and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We believe that having staff, interns, and volunteers with diverse backgrounds enable us to better meet our mission. CuriOdyssey considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other identifiable status.
