CuriOdyssey Raptor Power Day
CuriOdyssey members and visitors celebrated the dinosaurs that survived at Raptor Power Day. We watched raptors soar, learned about their role in ecology from raptor conservation experts, and met them up close to learn about the science of their survival and their individual rescue stories.
We saw falcons, hawks and eagles soar with falconer, Kenny Elvin from Full Circle Falconry.
Watch Kenny make a kookaburra laugh here.
We met Arabella, a spectacled owl, one of several rescued raptors who studied us during Wildlife Associates’ presentation on the differences between raptor species and their unique adaptations that ensure their survival.
Volunteers with Golden Gate Raptor Observatory showed us the importance of raptors to ecology and how to monitor raptor populations.
CuriOdyssey keepers shared facts and stories of our own rescued native wildlife.
Lunch was available for purchase from Flech’s, and Plum Organics delighted visitors with samples of their delicious organic puree.
Raptor Power Day is one of the many S.T.E.A.M. events that are free to CuriOdyssey members and included with the price of admission to CuriOdyssey.
