What to Know Before You Visit

The health and safety of all is our priority.

Daily Hours and What's Open

CuriOdyssey is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10am to 5pm.

CuriOdyssey’s indoor and outdoor science exhibit areas, zoo, shop, and Bay View Grove area are all open. The aviaries are closed. Both the indoor and outdoor restrooms are open.

Reserved ticketing recommended

We continue to limit the number of guests, and recommend reserving tickets in advance online.

Ticket reservations are no longer required or available for members. Please provide a Photo ID and we can get your tickets at the front desk.

Anyone wishing to access tickets using a discount (Discover & Go, Museums for All or others) may purchase onsite only.

Masks are recommended for all guests age 2+

All guests ages 2 and older are recommended to wear a mask that covers nose and mouth during the visit both indoors and outdoors. This protects our youngest visitors who cannot be vaccinated and our animals who are susceptible to COVID-19.

We have reusable masks for purchase in adult and child sizes. We also have a limited supply of disposable masks available for free.

Social distancing encouraged

We recommend maintaining 6ft distancing from other groups.

Additional information

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By visiting CuriOdyssey you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the CDC, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a health and safe visit for all.

If you, or anyone in your party, is feeling sick on the day of your visit, please stay home.  Contact us to reschedule your ticket to another date.

Wash your hands and/or visit our hand sanitizing stations before you enter and frequently throughout your visit.

We have a designated picnic area in the Bay View Grove. We recommend eating only in this area.

There is no time limit to your visit. You can stay until we close at 5pm.

Indoor and outdoor restrooms are open for CuriOdyssey visitors.

How do I purchase tickets to visit CuriOdyssey?

While we recommend all guests reserve tickets online prior to their visit we are happy to welcome walk-up visitors. All tickets are for a specific date and time.

As a member, do I still need to reserve tickets or can I just show my member card as in the past?

Members, check in when you arrive. Please bring your member card and photo ID with you when you visit.

As a member, how do I get discounted admission tickets for my guests?

After you sign in, click on the General Admission tab and you will be able to add additional tickets for non-member guests. You will automatically receive the discount that is appropriate for your membership level:

Family membership - $8.00 discount per ticket for up to four tickets each visit
Family Plus membership – two free tickets each visit
Advocate and Inquirer membership – four free tickets each visit
Innovators Circle and Directors Circle membership – unlimited free tickets each visit

There will be a small credit card fee even for your free admission tickets. To avoid this fee, get your guest tickets in person.

What if I don’t have a credit or debit card to purchase tickets?

If you need to pay cash or by check for a ticket, please contact CuriOdyssey at 650-342-7755 or [email protected] at least one week before your planned visit date.

How do I get discounted tickets for Museums for All, reciprocal program, etc.?

Tickets are available at the door at any time during our operating hours. Discount tickets are not sold in advance. If you have any questions about discount tickets please email [email protected]

How are you addressing the safety of facilities at CuriOdyssey?

The health and safety of all is our priority. We continue to have various measures in place to ensure that we have a safe and healthy environment for our visitors and staff. These measures include vaccination of eligible animals and frequent cleaning of high-touch areas, limited capacity and sanitization stations. We are following county guidelines to ensure visitors, animals and staff are as safe as possible.
