ACCESSIBILITY AND INCLUSION

Physical Accessibility

Our front entrance is accessible via ramp, and guests with mobility devices may exit through the front as well. Accessible parking for guests with DMV-issued disability placards is available adjacent to the building, and there is a designated white zone in the museum traffic circle to allow for easier drop off prior to parking.

Visitors attending events or programs in our classroom or outdoor patio can access those spaces via the same ramp.

Our Physics in Action playground, WHOOOSH!, is accessible by many mobility devices. The playground equipment is designed to be inclusive for users of all abilities, ages, and sizes.

Accessible Parking

If your vehicle displays a Disabled Person Parking Placard or Plate, you may park in the marked accessible parking places closest to the CuriOdyssey entrance. You are also welcome to park in the 10-minute parking, if all accessible parking spaces are occupied. Also, per the Coyote Point Recreation Area website, "Vehicle entry fees are waived for park visitors whose vehicles display a handicap placard or license plate." This applies every day.

Restrooms

We have single-stall, all gender restrooms, which are accessible by mobility devices and contain changing tables in two locations:

• In the outdoor portion of the zoo area, next to the raccoon exhibit
• At our Bay Gallery and Labs*, located to the left of the Bay View Gallery Entrance (after exiting our main building through the Bay View Grove exit, take the ramp on the left upwards and the restrooms will be visible on the right)

*Please note that the restrooms located at our Bay Gallery and Labs close daily at 3:30 PM, but can be accessed by request after that time by inquiring at our admissions window.

Sensory Accessibility

Some of our exhibits contain flashing lights, intense lighting, and auditory components. Noise-reducing headphones and sensory tools are available for check out at the front desk. If a a member of your party needs a quieter space to take a break, please ask at the front desk and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Looking for a quieter experience?

CuriOdyssey is the least busy on weekdays and afternoons (especially after 3 PM) and is the most busy on days when schools and extracurricular are closed, such as holidays. If you would like to confirm that we do not have any large group visits scheduled during your planned visit time, please contact us at 650-342-7755 or info@curiodyssey.org.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome throughout the museum and many parts of the zoo. All service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times.
