✨ Drag Storytime with Helixir Jynder Byntwell

The highlight of the evening — Drag Storytime with the one and only Helixir Jynder Byntwell! A Black, trans drag king and Oakland native, Helixir is the 2022 SF Drag King of the Year and a proud member of the Rebel Kings of Oakland. Known for their signature blend of emo flair, glitter, and heart, Helixir brings joyful, playful, and deeply authentic performance to every stage. Their name says it all: gender bent well. Don't miss this magical storytime you won't soon forget.

Connect with the San Mateo County Pride Center, on-site to share resources, information, and community support. Whether you're looking to get involved or just want to learn more, stop by and say hello.

🎨 Camo Corner

Can you spot the animal? Youth volunteers from our Youth Development Program are putting your nature skills to the test! Color your own animal and match it to its habitat, then see how well camouflage really works in the wild. Along the way, our volunteers will share fun facts and fascinating questions about the colors and patterns animals use to hide in nature.

🌈 Rainbow Wall Art

Contribute to our collaborative Rainbow Wall! Create your own original artwork to add to a growing, community-made installation, and learn the fascinating history behind the rainbow Pride flag, a symbol that has united and empowered LGBTQ+ people for decades.

🦎 Animals in Action

Come face-to-face with some of our favorite residents! Our Ambassador Animals will be out and ready to meet you. Get up close, ask questions, and discover what makes these creatures so extraordinary.
