Volunteers are essential to our impact.

Volunteers are not an add on to our work. They are part of how we deliver our mission.

At CuriOdyssey, volunteers collaborate across departments supporting wildlife care, leading inquiry based learning experiences, welcoming guests, assisting with programs, and strengthening behind the scenes operations. Their time, talent, and perspective expand our capacity and deepen our impact.

A Safe, Supported, and Structured Experience.

Volunteer safety and wellbeing are foundational to our program.

We are committed to providing clear training, strong supervision, thoughtful role design, and comprehensive health and safety practices. Our goal is to create an environment where volunteers, staff, guests, and animals feel safe, respected, and supported.

Program and Wildlife Volunteers

Our Program and Wildlife Volunteers help create an authentic, inquiry driven, and immersive environment for our community.

Volunteers

  • Interpret our wildlife collection for visitors of all ages
  • Facilitate hands on, curiosity based learning experiences
  • Engage guests with touchable biofacts and science exploration
  • Support positive, memorable moments that spark connection

We believe that curiosity begins early. By engaging children while their skills of observation and inquiry are developing, volunteers help cultivate confidence, empathy, and a lifelong love of animals and science. Volunteers are not just sharing information. They are helping shape how young people experience the natural world.

Our Volunteer Pathway

We are building a thoughtful Volunteer Lifecycle designed to support individuals from interest to impact. This includes:

  • Clear role descriptions and expectations
  • Structured onboarding and training
  • Ongoing feedback and growth opportunities
  • Recognition and advancement pathways

Our goal is not just to place volunteers, but to invest in them. We are creating meaningful experiences that are mutually beneficial and sustainable.
