Connie Sevier, Director Emeritus

Connie Sevier has given 50 years of volunteer service to CuriOdyssey. Starting when the museum was the San Mateo County Junior Museum, she was active in the Auxiliary and was a non-voting member of the museum’s board when she was the Auxiliary’s president in 1979. Among other Auxiliary roles, she chaired the popular Decorators’ Show House fundraiser. Connie joined the first class of Wildlife Docents when the Coyote Point Museum for Environmental Science opened and joined the board in 1994 serving as president in 2002-2004. Following in the revitalization and rebranding of the museum, Connie fell in love with Curiodyssey’s unique approach to teaching science to young children and rejoined the board, again serving as president from 2015-2019. She retired from the board in 2021.

 

In addition to her time at CuriOdyssey, Connie has served in leadership roles in the Hillsborough and San Mateo parent groups and completed two terms on San Mateo County Civil Grand Jury. Active in the San Mateo County parks, she worked on the Alternative Funding Committee and is past president of the San Mateo County Parks Foundation. Connie served on the Leadership San Mateo, Burlingame, Foster City, Hillsborough Leadership Board of Directors and chaired the environment day program from 1999-2020.

 

She is a native of Colorado and moved to California after graduating from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a resident of San Mateo and loves bringing her two grandsons to CuriOdyssey.
