Our Rubber boa was captive hatched in 2005 and donated to CuriOdyssey in 2007.
Fun Facts about Rubber Boas
Because of their blunt tail that resembles their head, rubber boas are sometimes referred to as the two-headed snake.
What do Rubber Boas eat?
Rubber Boas consume small nestling mammals and birds, lizards, amphibians and small snakes. At CuriOdyssey, they are served small mice.
How long do Rubber Boas live?
In the Wild: 8-10 years average
In Captivity: 20-30 years; some researchers have discovered individuals as old as 50 years
Where do Rubber Boas live?
Rubber Boas can be found at altitudes up to 3000 m (10,000 ft) and prefers cool, humid conditions, and can be found in a variety of habitats-grasslands, forest, chaparral, and meadows. They range from western North America from British Columbia to southern California
Are Rubber Boas endangered?
No special wildlife conservation status.
