Leadership Development (8th-12th Grade)

This specially designed program for youth entering 8th-12th grade in the fall of 2017 combines leadership development, science education, and environmental stewardship into one exceptional experience! Selected participants working within our summer camp program will develop and demonstrate their leadership abilities, responsibility, independent decision-making, public speaking skills and scientific knowledge.

Successful participants have continued their growth within our Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program, gained valuable experience that has helped them in their school and personal development, and gone on to be successful environmental stewards and educators here at the museum and in the community.

Participants must apply and be accepted in order to participate. Those accepted MUST attend the week-long training held June 19-23 (which includes a CAMPOUT) and commit to a minimum of 80 hours of practical experience between June 26th and August 25th plus 8 hours at any of CuriOdyssey’s 2017/18 public programs/events.

To apply for the Leadership Development Program the PARTICIPANT must complete and submit an application packet by 5:00pm, March 22, 2017. Applications can be downloaded from our website and may be faxed or mailed to the Director of Education at CuriOdyssey. All applications will be reviewed, and appropriate candidates, with complete applications will be invited to interview. Those who are the best fit for the program will be selected to participate. For questions, please contact Carl Oosterman or reach him by phone at (650) 340-7590.

Commitment: 9:00am-4:00pm June 19-23; minimum of 80 hours between June 26th–August 25th, and 8 hours at any of CuriOdyssey’s 2017/18 public programs/events.
