Full Day Camp for 1st-3rd graders

This winter there are two sessions, each featuring a different engaging science theme so campers registered for both sessions aren’t repeating content. Come and join us on an up-close and personal science adventure!

Session 1- December 20-23; Science of Art CAMP CLOSED
Campers will investigate the beauty of science by making works of art based on scientific principles and creativity. We will be creating with chemistry, playing with optical illusions, investigating color and more. All of our activities encourage campers to observe and tinker with science phenomena using their own senses and controlling their own variables.
Session 2- December 27-30; Hidden Coyote Point CAMP CLOSED
Coyote Point Park is a unique treasure to the peninsula. Easy access to the bay, wildlife, and lots of open space make Coyote Point a perfect place for campers to explore and discover. This session will have campers dig into activities such as mapping, rock climbing and geocaching. Opportunities to see live animals will be plentiful (if you keep your eyes and ears open) and youth will discover a sense of place within the hidden Coyote Point.

Half Day Camp for Kindergarten-2nd graders

A perfect opportunity for youth currently in Kindergarten through 2nd grade to have a rich science experience as they look more closely at some of the natural phenomena around us. These half day camps are great for kids who want to get more than a taste of science.

Tuesday, January 3, 2017 – Creative Contraptions CAMP FULL
Using the process of an engineer, students will design, build, and test creations such as catapults, paper helicopters, and marble roller coasters. There will be plenty of opportunities to be creative, problem solve, and learn from their observations.
Wednesday, January 4, 2017 – CSI (CuriOdyssey Science Investigators) CAMP FULL
Campers will become CSIs, gathering facts, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions to solve science mysteries. Campers will use forensic science as a means to solve a special “whodunit” challenge. This is a winter camp tradition that you won’t want to miss.
Thursday, January 5, 2017 – Backyard Biology CAMP FULL
Whether you live in the middle of the city or the woods, nature is all around – you only have to look, listen, and smell. Campers will explore urban habitats, create a home bringing nature to them, and use their senses to better understand the world around them.
